What Is This All About?
Essential oils have been shown to have potential for combating microbes involved in human disease, including some strains of bacteria that are resistant to current antibiotic treatment. Can essential oils be used effectively to treat chronic wounds? Can they be used to fight microbial infection in wounds?
The purpose of this website is to explore the effectiveness of essential oils in wound care through the gathering of stories from people who have used essential oils on wounds. Current research from other regions of the world has initiated this exploration; however, limited studies have been done using essential oils for wound care in the United States. My second story is based on personal experience from what I learned from the first. A friend was burned badly by hot metal scraping her arm. It was a third degree burn, as the skin was charred black. I had a blemish on my face that was red and hard for about a month. It did not respond to aloe vera gel or hydrogen peroxide, so I tried a drop of cypress oil on it twice per day. SURGICAL TOOTH INFECTION
After I had my tooth removed, the pain remained for weeks. The dentist thought that there was an infection in there, so he gave me antibiotics.
